Take Control Of Your Coverage

Have you been following the presidential campaign trail, have you been listening to all of the comments that the candidates are making with regard to healthcare coverage? I personally haven’t paid that close of attention, but when my husband started a new job this week we received paperwork stating that signing up for health insurance coverage was mandatory. I was a little taken back with this because it’s always been an option for us in the past. We have chosen to take a more unconventional route when it comes to health care coverage, but now that is going to be a thing of the past since we are forced to show that we have health insurance coverage. This makes me long for my retirement years so that I can get traditional Medicare through the government and not have to worry about the high cost of health insurance coverage. In addition I know that there are Medicare supplements available out there to help bridge the gap between what traditional Medicare will pay what my responsibility is going to be. That just makes retirement that much more desirable at this point.

As I flip on my television set I noticed that there are a lot of commercials recently with regard to Medicare supplement companies and their statements with regard to saving retirees money. I was curious and started looking into this and found that once I am enrolled in traditional Medicare part A and part B I am eligible to apply for supplemental insurance. I found that this insurance is very cost-effective and has great coverage combined with traditional Medicare. I also found out that if I make application for this coverage during the open enrollment phase I will have guaranteed coverage and I won’t have to go through the underwriting process. The premiums are very cost-effective and will eliminate any headaches should I have an accident or come down with a serious illness.

There are major insurance carriers such as Medigap insurance Pennsylvania there will be able to provide me with very low monthly premium rates and still get the coverage that I need and that I can afford my retirement years. Let’s face it if the trend continues for me and my family both my husband and I will be on a very limited income in our retirement years as well as a fixed income but we will have peace of mind knowing with Medicare gap insurance coverage our policy will always be in effect as long as we make our premium payments. I saw a commercial for 1-800-MEDIGAP and it stated, with one phone call we would be able to take care of all of our supplemental needs in an efficient and timely manner. As my husband and I approach retirement we are going to keep all of this information at hand and continued to investigate so that when the time comes we can make the best decision possible.
